FAQs

Q: Is the cup and lid dishwasher safe?

A: No and yes. The cup itself is not, as the external powder coating will quickly get ruined in the dishwasher. We like to clean ours with a hot, soapy coir brush. The lid is fine in the top rack of the dishwasher, but can also be washed by hand in warm soapy water if that's your thing.

Q: How do I protect the ceramic coating from getting scratched?

A: Simply use wooden utensils instead of metal ones. Just make sure they're FSC certified to help encourage sustainable timber harvesting.

Q: Why did my cup leak?

A: There are five possible causes, and make sure you watch Video 3.

  1. The cap was accidentally left in the open position.
  2. The bottom of the lid wasn't tightened fully. Watch Video 1 above.
  3. The lid was not screwed onto the cup fully.
  4. One or more of the seals is broken or not seated properly. Check out Video 3.
  5. You have either an older version lid, or one from a small faulty batch that briefly went into circulation. Either way, just email us and we'll sort a replacement.

Q: My lid seems stuck, what's wrong?

A: A couple of things could be going on. You may have the older version of the lid mechanism, which has a black cog inside the top cap. Or you might have been unlucky enough to get a lid from a small faulty batch that briefly went into circulation. Either way, just email us with your order number and shipping details and we'll get to the bottom of this sticky issue and send a replacement.

If you experience any problems that haven't been answered here, don't be afraid to reach out at info@bru-cups.com and we'll make it right (we're a friendly bunch). We hope you enjoy using your bru Travel mug.
